OFF TO DUBAI...

Razzak, Nurul and Zohorul are all off to Dubai in two days' time to seek employment with Le Meridien Hotel. They will be trained for one month and then, depending on their performance, they may be offered a permanent work visa. Nurul is the father of one of our kids in Standard VI, he has been unemployed for some time. Razzak and Zohorul are from the village of Pabna to the north of Dhaka.
This is literally the opportunity of a lifetime, at Dubai they will gain important work experience, greatly improve their English and of course earn money for their families back home. Razzak is the only wage-earner in his family and this income will be crucial to their well-being.
These guys have had access to The Dhaka Project's library and computer lab to help them prepare for their placement. They were given English classes by Rufus, and Shimul in the office organised communication with Le Meridien Hotel and their visas – a real team effort!!
This is the first group of men we've sent to Dubai, if they do well hopefully our relationship with Le Meridien Hotel will flourish and we can help even more poor families.
We wish these guys the best of luck and hope they enjoy their trip to Dubai. It should be stunning….
